At a rudimentary level, restaurants used to estimate this depending on the type of food and where it has to be delivered. But these were times when reducing delivery times was not really a concern.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this modern, post-pandemic world, delivering food in time is of critical importance and a few extra seconds can be a deal breaker in some cases. At LogiNext, we\u2019ve been working with several top QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) chains like McDonald\u2019s, BurgerKing, Starbucks and KFC to ensure under 30 minute deliveries <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/info.loginextsolutions.com\/quick-service-restaurant-case-study-for-on-demand-delivery-management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(download QSR case study<\/a><\/span>). And the envelope is being pushed to under 20 minute deliveries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In such a scenario, it becomes extremely important to estimate the ETA even before a customer places an order so that the entire supply chain is orchestrated in an efficient manner. And this is where Artificial Intelligence plays a critical role.\u00a0 There are two engines that kick into effect with respect to ETAs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first is the ETA calculation engine where the system calculates considering various factors like traffic conditions, weather patterns, capacity availability, time of the day and week, and the restaurant&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/loginextsolutions.com\/blog\/track-drivers-in-real-time-and-ensure-sla-compliance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">SLA requirements<\/span><\/a> (which can be configured on the LogiNext platform).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In technical jargon, the LogiNext engine calculates ETA based on:<br \/>a) Time to load orders in a trip<br \/>b) Travel time to reach customer location<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"background-color: #e0242b; padding: 14px 20px 14px 20px; min-width: 200px; border-radius: 3px; line-height: 18px!important; lethter-spacing: 0.125em; text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 12px; font-family: 'Open Sans',Arial,sans-serif; font-weight: 600; color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loginextsolutions.com\/contact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Speak to an expert<\/a><\/div>\n<h2><b>How does the app show delivery time before a customer places an order?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ETA calculation is one thing and then there is another engine on the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/info.loginextsolutions.com\/end-to-end-transport-automation-platform-qsr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LogiNext platform<\/a><\/span> which calculates the estimated time of delivery even before a customer places an order. The LogiNext platform does this via two ways: Best Delivery Driver Mode and the Best Estimate Mode.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The best\u00a0delivery driver mode identifies one delivery associate for transporting the order according to the auto-assignment settings that the user has configured. And the\u00a0ETA will be determined based on that one\u00a0driver&#8217;s parameters. While the Best Estimate mode does not zero down on the one\u00a0driver that the auto-assignment engine would find. One of the major strides when it comes to predicting ETAs, is the route planning and route optimization.
